  • Actively participated, in cooperation with CoCoFOE (Colorado Coali-tion for Fair and Open Elections), in the passage of the 1995 bill that straightened out the independent candidate petitioning process and the 1997 bill that officially recognized the status of minor parties.

Why vote for Doug “Dayhorse” Campbell?

The U.S. Constitution says nothing about America having a two-party-only system.  In reality, and for too long, there has been only one party – with two faces – each face speaking different rhetoric but following the same agenda of swearing a solemn oath to defend our Constitution and then ignoring the limitations it imposes on their powers and neglecting the responsibilities it requires of them.

As Senator, I will vote against all bills not explicitly authorized under the U.S. Constitution.  I will vote against sending troops into combat, any-where in the world, unless it is to defend American lives, property, or territory, and unless it’s backed by the full support of our nation with a Declaration of War; and for bringing our troops home ASAP to secure our own borders. I will vote to permit environmentally responsible drilling and to give more than lip service to creating an energy-independent America by developing alternative, renewable energies through the free market.

I am an avid gun control advocate. I say if you can hit the target, with your first shot, every time… you have achieved adequate control over your gun.

It is my intention to replace the current tax system of the U.S. government with a new approach based on the original design of our founding fathers.

Stage one: Cut federal spending by phasing out all functions not authorized by the Constitution.

Stage two: Impose a uniform revenue (NOT protective) tariff on all imports and a modest excise tax on all non-essential goods (neither tax to exceed 10%).

Stage three: Eliminate all direct federal taxes (including income, social security, estate & inheritance, corporate, and fuel taxes).

Stage four: Bill revenue shortfalls to state legislatures in proportion to their congressional representation, thereby recovering the Doctrine of Interposition and creating pressure by the state legislatures on their states’ congressional delegations to control federal spending.

Beyond that, I stand squarely for:

*  our pre-born posterity’s right to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness;

*  disengaging the federal government from dictating education policy;

*  focusing environmental policy on scientific conservation, rather than closed-door preservation;

*  protecting  the family against unwarranted governmental interference;

*  centering our foreign and economic policies on the needs and security of our nation first;

*  restoring the integrity of our borders, re-establishing limits on immigration, and requiring the tracking of foreign visitors (whether here for tourism, work, education, or diplomacy);

*  reinstating a stable monetary system based on constitutional standards;

*  eliminating gradually the ponzi scheme known as Social Security;

*  re-establishing the right to security of persons and property under the 4th Amendment; and

* reducing the need for welfare by minimizing the taxation and regulatory burdens on businesses, so they can “afford to hire.”

Bottom Line…

My Democrat opponent’s campaign says the Republican is a hand-in-the-till, corporate fat-cat, elitist.  He doesn’t deserve your vote, and you shouldn't vote for him.   My Republican opponent’s campaign says the Democrat is a tree-hugging, tax-and-spend, big-government elitist.  He doesn’t deserve your vote, and you shouldn't vote for him.

I say:  listen to them carefully…   the only sensible way to resolve this logical dilemma is to take their advice…   and not vote for them!!   It’s obvious they’re both far too juvenile for that much responsibility.
