Brian "Constitution" Scott

United States House of Representatives, CD- 5

I love this country, and it breaks my heart to watch as one Administration after another violates both the principles in the Declaration of Independence, and Rule of Law based on the Constitution.  Both major parties serve special interests, rather than “We the People.”  My opponent is a good Conservative personally, but he answers to a corrupt Republican Party that is more concerned with corporate profits than with creating jobs.

If elected, I will prioritize one specific goal: ending military adventures that do not make us safer.  In 2001 – 02, we went to Afghanistan to kill, capture or disrupt al Qaeda.  MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.  But due to a lack of focused leadership, we forgot to leave, and now a second Afghan War has developed because the locals want us to leave.  Instead of investing Trillions in trying to make foreigners like us, let’s take care of our own problems first.

As an Infantry veteran, I worked through Congressman Hefley in 2002 to try to prevent the Iraq War, and he said that he thought that a War would be good for the country, help the economy and boost national pride.
I asked Congressman Lamborn in 2006 to at least end the use of corporate killers in Iraq, and he strongly denied that the US military employed any Mercenaries.  He still wants to “stay the course” in Iraq until we achieve “Victory.”  Maybe if he had some military experience he might see things differently.

Now President Obama is making preparations for expanding the war into Iran, Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia.  That’s not in the interests of the American people, regardless of what BP and the oil companies want.  We can’t afford it, either.

If elected, I will be accessible.  Since he went to Washington, Congressman Lamborn has not participated in any events where he would have to face the public.  How can he represent us if he won’t ever listen to us ?
